Pseudo Random _ Cecilie Sadolin at Greenhouse Berlin
June 21 @ 11:30 pm - June 22 @ 12:00 am
The 21’st of June at 23.30 danish singer and composer, Cecilie Sadolin takes the stage at Greenhouse Berlins’ 8’th floor Modular + Space, organised by the Urban Base Community, facebook.com/Urban-Base-Community-375538652644787/, performing music from her upcoming debut album Pseudo Random.
The album “Pseudo Random” is a tribute to the raw and abstract musical borderland. – Each song on the album describes a step on my uneven journey through my music career, where I started with pop music and then moved into an abstract, experimental and sensuous musical universe. And that universe can be a fascinating and slightly schizophrenic musical and emotional borderland. The album is a hybrid between a recognizable, traditional rhythmic music world and a twisted, dark and manipulated electronic world. It has a neat and polished surface, but hides a lot of dark secrets, the deeper you get into the album.
– “Pseudo Random” is a revolt against our constant focus on image and narrow boxes nowadays and a tribute to the raw musical expression that comes to life in the combination of various music genres. The title of the album refers to an algorithm which is programmed to generate random numbers.
December 2016, the first single from Pseudo Random Tapestry was released, and it was made into an artproject as a shortfilm, in collaboration with the London based production company Simulacra Studios, and swedish photographer Hedvig Larsson.
The album is set to be released in Autumn 2017, and for this night Cecilie will perform chosen pieces along with drummer Pier Ciaccio and bassplayer Jelmer de Haan.
Cecilie Sadolin released the jazz EP “Nordic Craft” in 2013, and has worked as a backup singer for multiple danish and international acts, such as danish jazzsinger Cæcilie Norby, the Danish National Big Band, DR Orchestras and various international musical acts spanning from the Iceland, USA, the UK and Sweden. Her compositional work spans over musical scores for short films, theater, and as a songwriter for other artists. Her work has been featured on various albums, shortfilms and in tv shows.
In the summer of 2016 Cecilie graduated as a jazz singer from the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, Denmark, and is currently a student of composition from The Royal Academy of Music, Denmark. In addition, Cecilie is living in Berlin studying music production and sound engineering, as a part of her masters’ degree.
