New Brew Thursday #11 Brasserie Outland
June 15 @ 5:00 pm - June 16 @ 2:00 am
This edition of New Brew Thursday comes courtesy of Brasserie Outland from Paris, France. Yann Geffriaud and Matthieu Dutlé brewers and owners of this artisan ale microbrewery have been involved in the small, fledging Paris brewing scene since 2009. They have also been very much part of the success of Paris Beer Week which has brought a bit of attention to the small scene in their home city in recent years.
Taking their inspiration from the American West Coast styles after previously first learning to brew in New York while working as a teacher, Yann and his collegue Matthieu have produced many quality ales and his words certainly ring true for so many of his dedicated brewing peers around the world “Beer is a real product, with good taste. What we want is to get beer out of the industrial world”.
Their small 300sq metre brewery houses a brewing system and five fermenters will soon grow to include a laboratory for experimenting, a bottle conditioning room and a tasting room but you can sample many of their beers at their nearby taproom when you visit Paris.
We thorougly enjoy bringing you the old stalwarts and legends of the world of brewing but we also like to present those microbrewers who are going about their business in an honest and true to the art fashion without all the extras and glitz. We think you´ll like these chaps.
On tap this week we have from Outland
Clearly Hoppy New England Pale Ale
West Coast IPA
